School Reviews
2 3/30/2010
Quality of academic programs are lacking. The availability of extracurricular activities are not comparable to majority of schools in Missouri. The emphasis is on what sports are available at this school, taking away from study time. The facilities are old and dilapidated. Parent involvement is suffering due to awareness that there is the same small group of parents and students year after year who are of the "chosen" to be favorites of this school. Other students are denied, and other parents opinions do not matter or count.
2 1/28/2010
Academic programs are not challenging. Fine arts are almost non existant wheras sports are extremely overemphasized to the exclusion of almost all other activities. Large blocks of time committed to athletic practice that takes students away from other activities and interests. The facilities are, mostly old and dilipadated. Classrooms are cold, drafty and noisy due to lack of sound dampening materials. A new addition is being planned for Pre-K through K. Parent involvement is minimal due to a central office administration that does not promote community relations. Current superintendent does not seem to be knowledgeable of school district administration. "Cronyism" has invaded the school to the point of creating ineffective administration and teaching.
