School Reviews
5 1/25/2008
My daughter has been attending EWS for 5 years. She has been nurtured as a full human being there--challenged academically, taught by an international, well-trained and professional teaching staff. She has daily art, drama, music, and P.E. classes. The school provides an excellent bilingual education (either Spanish/English or French/English) and has a central commitment to fostering a sense of social justice and community responsibility in its students. This year, the school instituted a "healthy living" curriculum which encourages healthy eating, exercise, and environmentally conscious lifestyles for teachers and parents. The support services for children with learning disabilities are quite good, and the school is alive with all sorts of extracurricular activities for children and their families, including a Saturday academy with free violin, guitar, and steel drum lessons, French, English, and Spanish classes for parents, a biking club and a Scout troop, among other things. The 6th graders travel each year to either Martinique or Panama, depending on their target languages. This is a very special school, which nurtures and challenges students to be excellent thinkers and excellent human beings.
