School Reviews

5   1/24/2014
Overall there are a lot of positive things about this school. In 6th and 7th grade they did a lot of off campus activities although it seemed like they did less and less each year. It was difficult because the director changed while we were there and we got to see how the school was run under both directors and we much preferred Kevin, who has now retired. I am not so sure the new direction of the school is that positive. There is much less flexibility in choices and decisions since the new director and I feel that flexibility is always needed as no situation is ever black or white. The teachers are good overall, some are better than others but I wouldn't classify the majority as phenomenal. The concept behind the school is great with all the off sight activities and hands on learning but sometimes they spend too much time on projects that are too narrow when I would rather see the students learn about broader issues. I would still recommend the school based on my experience for my son in the 6th grade, I am reserved about how the future will unfold with the new direction, especially if Exploris takes on too much by going K-8.
