    Jay Greenlinger is leaving Medea Creek Middle School in Oak Park to become principal of La Mariposa Elementary School in Camarillo. Greenlinger has served as Medea's dean of students since August 2007. Greenlinger joined Oak Park Unified School District in 2003, teaching first third and then fifth grade at Brookside Elementary School.

    If we weren't already ashamed of our school district, recent actions taken by Pleasant Valley School District and the school board have given Camarillo residents another reason to be appalled. When the school board voted to remove Principal Julie Antilla-Garza from Las Posas Elementary School, it sent shock waves through our school community.

    I am writing in regards to the May 29 article "Parents upset, frustrated by principal's dismissal" at Las Posas Elementary School. Both my children and several of our friends' children attend this wonderful school. I support the parents in regard to the principal's accomplishments, but no good leader could do this alone.
