    A Camarillo middle school was burglarized late Thursday night or early this morning, authorities said. The burglary at Monte Vista Middle School, 888 Lantana St., was reported about 6:30 a.m. today. Someone broke a window at the school, entered several rooms, forced open some cabinets, caused a small amount of damage and stole about $300 in cash, said Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Dowd. No suspects ...

    Camarillo's Monte Vista Middle School recently donated nearly 400 DVDs for service men and women stationed overseas. The school's Junior Optimist Club organized the eight-day drive for Operation DVD, a nonprofit group. "It was so wonderful," said Dan Thaxton, Operation DVD volunteer. "I'm trying to get other schools to get an annual drive.

    Sometime between Jan. 28 and Feb. 13, a 23-year-old man living in the 5200 block of Mission Oaks Boulevard sent $700 to an apparent con artist living in England. Sometime between Feb. 10 and 11, burglars broke into a business in the 300 block of Mobil Avenue and rummaged through one of the offices. Nothing was reported stolen.
