Tisa’s Hair Salon on Main Street hosted a Hair-A-Thon on a Sunday afternoon in October. Santa Paula High School junior Daisy Hernandez has done a lot of growing up in the past five months. When her family lost its Bakersfield home to foreclosure in May, Daisy, her parents and two younger siblings moved in with her aunt and uncle in Santa Paula. Daisy’s parents, who worked in the fields picking grapes in Bakersfield, couldn’t find jobs here.
