    Three teenagers were charged today with breaking into Cumberland County school property. They are Joseph Rene Rault Jr., 18, and Jeremy Wellington, 19, both of the 2600 block of Dumbarton Road, and Steven Nicolas Taylor, 16, of the 3600 block of Shem Creek Drive.

    Cheers to Lee Rhyne for numerous hours volunteering his time to cook the pig, (refusing compensation) for the residents of Bethesda Health Care. It was greatly appreciated, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Cheers and thank you to the John Griffin Middle School faculty, staff, students and parents who donated to our annual food drive. Through your generosity, we collected more than 2,600 items of food, which were donated to the Alms House in Hope Mills.

    Boy Scout Troop 746 will hold a Court of Honor Award ceremony Tuesday at Cumberland United Methodist Church starting at 7 p.m. Marvin United Methodist Men will host its fifth annual golf tournament on Oct. 2 at Cypress Lakes Golf Course.

    Angel Elite Sports will sponsor a free softball clinic Saturday. Each clinic begins at 3 p.m. at Lowry Park on Pine Street in Pembroke. Clinics are for ages 8-12 and are designed to improve fundamental skills.

    A Hope Mills teenager is accused of vandalizing 12 buses belonging to Cumberland County Schools. George Edmund Miller, 17, of the 4700 block of Monticello Avenue, was charged today with 12 counts each of injury to personal property and conspiracy.
