Wood in the Wildcats' season opener, and the Vikings earned a 7-2 victory.Vanden swept singles play with five of the six matches won in straight sets.   Andrew Aplin picked up a big save as the Vanden High School baseball team held off Rodriguez 6-5 Tuesday night at Laurel Creek Park in Fairfield. Rodriguez scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and had the bases loaded with nobody out when head coach Ryan Adams turned to his star.
