    Superintendent John Aycock: Compensation package of $208,848 includes $176,598 base salary; $3,976 honorariums and allowances; $12,660 longevity pay; and $15,614 retirement contribution. Also receives 18 days sick leave and 25 days annual leave (222-day position).

    Certificated employees receive no paid vacation. Principals work 210 days per year and certificated directors, 220 days. Associate and assistant superintendents receive 25 days annual leave. Certificated administrators are entitled to 11 or 12 sick days per year, depending on the number of days they work.

    Alamo Elementary School staff were delighted to find a huge basket of fruit in our staff room last week. It was given to us by an anonymous donor. Apparently all the elementary schools in Vacaville received such a gift. It's nice to be appreciated, and we are truly grateful.

    Graduating seniors from Vacaville High School who attended Alamo Elementary School are invited to apply for the Larry Dykstra Scholarship.A minimum of three $500 scholarships will be awarded at the Vacaville High School Awards assembly in May.Interested students may obtain applications through the counseling office.

    The Alamo Elementary School PTA is set to host its Wild West Dinner and Auction at the Elmira Fire Station, 420 Vine St., Elmira.The event will feature a barbecue tri-tip or chicken dinner, music and dancing, casino-themed gaming, as well as live and silent auctions.
