SPC Joseph Michael Lewis, of Terrell, passed away Nov. 17, 2009 while defending our nation’s freedom in Afghanistan. SPC Lewis was born Sept. 25, 1983 in Dallas and attended L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, as well as Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell. SPC Lewis completed basic training at Fort Knox in Kentucky in 2005. MOUNT BACHELOR — For the Summit High School nordic ski team, good things came in threes on Sunday.For the third straight year, the Storm boys and girls won the Oregon High School Nordic (OHSNO) state championships. And in the process, Summit skiers took the top three spots in the final boys and girls races of the championships.
