    Staff reports Jazzmin Bethea scored a double-double to lead the Vanguard basketball team to a 64-22 victory over visiting Dunnellon in Monday night’s season opener. Bethea had 13 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Holly Pole added 11 points. Shalaunte Gardner scored 7 points for Dunnellon (0-1), which visits Leesburg on Friday.

Assistant coach Thomas Gerds is replacing Bob Adamson, who will remain as the Panther athletic director.
