    SAMFORD UNIVERSITY Tanner Fox of Lakeland was elected by classmates to be a freshman class representative on the 2009 Homecoming Court at Samford University. The court was introduced at halftime of Samford's Homecoming game against Georgia Southern Nov. 7.

    Polk County School District officials are investigating a bomb threat that led to an evacuation at Rochelle School of the Arts in Lakeland on Monday. About 11 a.m., someone saw a threat written on a bathroom wall about blowing up the school, said Greg Bondurant, the district's director of safe schools.
