      Tanita Peak, a fourth grade teacher at Brooklet Elementary School, was named Friday the 2010 Bulloch County School System’s Teacher of the Year. Peak learned of her selection Friday morning when Superintendent Lewis Holloway and administrators surprised her in her classroom.

      Bulloch County's first day of school went smoothly, with only a couple glitches, said School Superintendent Dr. Lewis Holloway.

      It was "Read Across America Day” Friday at Nevils Elementary School. Students and staff packed the gymnasium for a rally to encourage everyone to read and celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
