      Tanita Peak, a fourth grade teacher at Brooklet Elementary School, was named Friday the 2010 Bulloch County School System’s Teacher of the Year. Peak learned of her selection Friday morning when Superintendent Lewis Holloway and administrators surprised her in her classroom.

      At the Statesboro High School campus, there is an amazing array of new technology. Needless to say, it constantly demands attention. Staff member Toby Davis has developed a reputation for being able to wrestle almost any technological glitch or malfunction into submission.

      A new state law allows parents to request a transfer for their children to another public school outside  their school zone, providing the parents provide transportation.
