The Georgia Book Awards' Quiz Bowl competitions for western Chatham County elementary schools took place recently at West Chatham Elementary School in Pooler. When Pooler Elementary School's PTA had to delay its annual Mother's Day celebration due to CRCT testing, members decided to change their traditional tea party theme as well. On May 14, they invited all the students' moms for an afternoon "Muffins With Mom" reception. Hazardous materials crews from Savannah Fire & Emergency Services are at Jenkins High School, investigating an undetermined substance that was discovered this afternoon inside a sink in a science lab.
