    NAMPA — Officially it was a regular season game, but coach Bill Brock and the Middleton Vikings approached Friday's game against Skyview like a play-in game. By beating the Hawks 34-32, Middleton (7-2 overall, 6-1 4A South Idaho Conference) clinched a spot in the 4A state tournament. The Vikings travel to Sandpoint (7-2) next week for a first-round game.

    NAMPA — Skyview defeated Nampa in four sets (26-28, 25-22, 25-16, 25-16) on Thursday at Skyview High School. Leading Skyview (4-2, 4-2 4A SIC) was McKenna Ford (10 kills, one ace), Dani Davidson (seven kills), Olivia Rass (five aces, nine kills) and Hannah Checketts (29 assists).

    NAMPA —  Andy Maxwell has played for two Treasure Valley basketball teams. On Monday he joined his third. Maxwell, a 2007 graduate of Skyview High School and former player at the College of Idaho signed his commitment letter to play for the Crusaders, one of four players to sign such letters for coach Tim Hills Monday.
