  Eric “da Bahia” Santos Lindauer, son of Venice High School Super Shop 9 instructor Art Lindauer, has passed away at the age of six. Eric died suddenly August 31st from respiratory failure and cardiac arrest, his father said.

Harris, 22, a former Venice High School football player and an avid sportsman, died Wednesday in a free-diving accident. He and his father, Don, and friends were fishing near an artificial reef about 25 miles off the coast of Venice.

  Venice High School's homecoming parade was halted briefly Friday morning after a minor accident sent one student to the hospital to get stitches. Sarasota schools spokesman Scott Ferguson said that two girls were sitting in the trunk of a car in the parade with their legs sticking out when a truck hit them.
