Gary III needed only two touchdowns to advance out of the first round of the men’s open league flag-football playoffs Tuesday night. Dubuque - Ryan Heim is a two-time state wrestling champion for Dubuque Hempstead High School. While red-shirting as a freshman for the Iowa Wrestling team, that car accident changed his plans to compete at the college level. DUBUQUE - In September, 2007, a car struck and killed 15-year-old Lauren Schmidt as she was crossing the street in front of the Hempstead High School. The death of two high school students in two days has rocked the Dubuque community. It's also caused for concern for health officials. Dubuque - Late last week, two Dubuque high school students died suddenly, each at their own homes. Health officials say they don't believe these deaths are related.
