The Shawnee Educational Foundation is soliciting nominations for its annual Hall of Fame award. Recipients will be recognized at the Hall of Fame banquet in February. Shawnee High School has struggled for years with poor test scores, teacher turnover and discipline -- while its enrollment has dwindled to 480 students. In response, district officials are quietly devising a radical alternative -- turn Shawnee into the district's second citywide K-12 magnet-program school. The other is the Brown School.
