  The 2009 football season is winding down. We are approaching week number nine of the season. Most of our high school play-off spots are already set. There are a few more to be decided after this weeks region games. The Ranburne Bulldogs will take on the Clay County Panthers in Ranburne.

  On this day in 1969, Anniston's first TV station, WHMA, signed on at noon with a half-hour test pattern followed by two pro football games. The scrappy little station virtually disappeared, not quite 27 years old, in September 1996 when it was absorbed into the Birmingham ABC market.
