    For the 20th year, the National Geographic Society is holding the National Geographic Bee for students in grades four through eight. The Barnstable Middle School will host its bee on Jan. 11 from 9:15 a.m. to noon in the BMS library.

    Students from more than 100 Massachusetts high schools, including Sturgis Charter School and Cape Cod Academy, will take part in the Massachusetts Bar Association’s 2009 Mock Trial Program, which began Jan. 26 with preliminary trials. The 2009 criminal case involves a murder trial.
