  A new University of Arkansas study puts Harrison Middle School and Valley Springs Middle School among Arkansas’ top 20 middle schools and Skyline Heights Elementary School at Harrison among the top 20 Arkansas elementary schools for combined math and literacy scores on tests given last spring.

  Matthew Piper is a 32-year-old teacher at Skyline Heights Elementary School who hasn’t forgotten his heritage. “Aunt Della (Lanter) lives on Orchard Point Road on Gaither Mountain,” he says. Her husband died in 1990.
