Retired New York State trooper David O' Brien of Allegany, is accused of driving drunk and crashing into another car which killed the driver. A master wood carver in the area has been helping others learn the art and craft their own creations. Bill Swango, a Smithfield resident who displays many of his wood carvings in a museum room at the Red Brick School in Smithfield and is renowned for his craftsmanship, also serves on the Cuba School Board.
