Thomas E. Leonard, 21, of Dexter, was accepted into the Peace Corps and departed for Niger in July to begin pre-service training as a community and youth education Peace Corps Volunteer. The Lakeland volleyball season came to a close Thursday night in the regional finals against Farmington Hills Mercy at Dexter High school.
