    The board of education reviewed the specifics of the Needs Project for Hillsboro Elementary School at Monday’s meeting. The board has been working with Williamson Shriver Architects, Inc. to design the project plan for funding. Once the plan is completed, it will be sent to the School Building Authority for approval.

    The board of education expelled two female Pocahontas County High School students Monday night for possession/use of a controlled substance on a school bus and being under the influence at school. Board president Kenneth Vance addressed the students after the decision was made.

    Board of education members were informed at Monday’s meeting about a strict policy from the West Virginia Board of Education concerning fundraisers involving food.
