John Vernon Andersen, age 61, of Winneconne, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009. He was born June 21, 1948 in Neenah, the oldest of four children to the late Vernon and Elaine (Ihrig) Andersen. John served his country in the U.S. Army from May of 1968 until 1972. Upon returning from the service he resumed working in Winneconne at J.I. Case through the Ingersoll ownership. Charles Randle, 38, 229 Linden St., Bellwood, was charged Saturday with first-degree murder and attempted concealment of a homicide in the death of his ex-girlfriend. Barb Gacic was doing research for this year’s presentation of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce’s annual Charlemagne Award when she discovered that many of the old photos, newspaper articles and other keepsakes of Lincoln Elementary School had been inadvertently lost over the years.
