    Bastrop Main Street, in conjunction with the Rose Theatre, will once again host “Big Brass and Brunch,” a fundraiser for the two organizations, on Nov. 29. This year, brunch will be held from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Visitor Center and Synergy Brass Quintet will be the featured musicians at a 2 p.m. performance at the theatre.

    BOTTINEAU - Sometimes in volleyball the most deceiving statistic is the final score. That was never more the case then at the final day of the District 11 volleyball tournament. Both matches ended in 3-0 sweeps, but neither were as lopsided as the final score indicated.

    BOTTINEAU - A funny thing happened on Newburg-Westhope's way to a sweep. A scrappy Sawyer team started making plays. After the Eagles breezed to a 2-0 lead, things tightened up with Sawyer taking a 26-24 win in game 3 and the momentum that came with it.

    Two men are charged in a vandalism incident at Bottineau High School and one of them is accused of firing a gun in the school. Authorities say Travis Wilkie of Bottineau and Levi Wasson of Minot forced their way in to the school last Thursday night.

    Students and parents in Bottineau are relieved to know the Bottineau shooters are in jail tonight, and it is, in part, because of school technology. Last year, Bottineau High School installed surveillance cameras inside the school. Thanks to the cameras, the two men were caught on tape.

    Bottineau police have arrested two men for breaking into the high school there and shooting a gun inside. Travis Wilkie, 18, and Levi Wasson, 20, have been charged with the burglary and vandalism at Bottineau High School Thursday night.
