    Canfield Police were called last week to a home at 535 Brookpark Drive. And what was found, they said, was disturbing. Nine dogs, ill and malnourished, along with a husband, wife and two young children living in filth just a couple of hundred yards from Canfield High School.

    Shawn Cobey has been named the final addition to Clemson's track & field coaching staff for the 2009-10 season. Director of Track & Field Lawrence Johnson made the announcement Tuesday. Cobey joins the Tiger track & field program after a successful stint as a student-athlete and coach at his alma mater, Youngstown State. Cobey will be in charge of the men's and women's throwers.

    The community shows support for a Valley family. People came out for a spaghetti dinner at Canfield High School on Sunday to help pay for one year old Ava Timko's medical expenses. In January, Ava was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia known as Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
