I'm an eighth-grade student at Sequoia Middle School. There have been many budget cuts, which makes a worried setting in schools. We have already made a lot of cuts and trimmed a lot of corners, but I think that before the teachers start to get pinkslipped, we should find other corners to cut. - Newbury Park kids experience life with disabilities (Ventura County Star)

Students at a Newbury Park middle school are learning this week what it’s like to live with a disability. The second annual Abilities Awareness Week program was organized by the Parent Teacher Association at Sequoia Middle School on Borchard Road, which has about 1,100 students in sixth through eighth grades.
