The Robert W. Bracken American Legion Post in Bristol will salute veterans at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Harriman World War II Monument at Pond Street and Farragut Avenue. I can remember when the late Dennis Hernandez accompanied his sons, whether it be D.J. or Aaron, to The Bristol Press when one was selected to be the area’s high school "Athlete of the Week." The Scholarship Golf Classic held on Monday, Sept. 22, was a fun day and money making way to achieve a worthy purpose.
