    The Attalla City School System has scheduled H1N1 flu vaccination clinics at Stowers Hill Intermediate School, Etowah Middle School and Etowah High School. The clinics are limited to students attending those schools.

    The Attalla Board of Education announced the 2009-2010 Teachers of the Year at Thursday’s meeting. The teachers are Teresa Bolin of Curtiston Primary School, Mandy Streefkerk of Stowers Hill Intermediate School, Katey Blakely of Etowah Middle School and Wayne Gibson of Etowah High School.

    ATTALLA - Emily Winkles was one of the first students at Stowers Hill Intermediate School to try out an arbor at the entrance to an outdoor classroom built Tuesday. Winkles, a fifth-grader, uses a wheelchair, and she made sure her chair and others would fit through the metal entry.
