Larry Southard played football at Sterling College in Kansas when knee cartilage sidelined him after two years of play. The incident sparked his interest in athletic training and 40 years later, he's still wrapping ankles and taping wrists. Southard has been the athletic trainer at Nederland High School for the past eight years.
