Las Virgenes Unified School District celebrated the retirement of 33 employees in May, including several administrators and teachers who have been with the district for more than 30 years. Priscilla Aguero, a fourthgrade student at Sumac Elementary School in Agoura Hills, has a knack for creating award-winning bookmarks. The 9-year-old was one of 12 children out of 10,000 entrants to win the 2008 Los Angeles County Public Library Children's Bookmark Award, said her father, Randall Aguero.
