Mercer Island High School boys water polo coach, Adam Massmann, was named the 2009 Washington state water polo coach of the year, following the state tournament three weeks ago in Federal Way. The Mercer Island High School girls soccer team lost to Columbia River, out of Vancouver, Wash. in the 3A girls soccer state championship game this afternoon.
