BELFAIR — Hawkins Middle School is launching a yearlong program called Rachel’s Challenge whose mission is to create a safe learning environment at the school. BELFAIR — It’s been a tough Wednesday morning in the North Mason School District. A bus bringing students to Sand Hill Elementary was hit by a car on Mission Creek Road. Possibly in the near future some of those once majestic fish runs could see a comeback as the removal of the 108-foot Elwha Dam and the 210-foot Glines Canyon Dam will begin no later than 2011.
