    A report of an attempted luring Thursday near Lydia Hawk Elementary School was false, according to Thurston County Sheriff Chief Jim Chamberlain.

    LACEY, Wash. -- Two girls who told police on Thursday that a man tried to lure them have recanted their story, police said. The two girls, ages 9 and 10, said they were on their way home from Lydia Hawk Elementary school when a white van stopped in front of them, police said.
