LI Amanda Bottkol of Coleman was one of 170 high school 2009 graduates nationwide to be awarded a one-time monetary scholarship of $1,400 by Simon Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and career development opportunities to youth. Mary L. Liddicoat, age 79, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Mary was born on May 10, 1930 in Beaver Dam to William D. and Viola (nee Zimmerman) Morgan. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1948 and later attended Business College in Milwaukee. You see those stories once in a while where someone finds a class ring and tracks down the owner. Drew MacDonald has a whole box of 'em. His father, a history buff, got himself an underwater metal detector and a wetsuit.
