A candidate in this May's Moorpark City Council race was arrested on charges of hitting and threatening an elderly man at Mesa Verde Middle School last week. Police arrested a 38-year-old woman April 27 who allegedly assaulted a police officer and made suicidal statements. The incident occurred on Villageview Court. Thieves stole a credit card May 11 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Los Angeles Avenue.
