  • Lincoln Community High School is located at 1000 Primm Road in Lincoln, Illinois.
  • Sports: The school is a traditional power in boys' basketball in central Illinois. The Railsplitters have been state finalists (among the final 16) in the state class AA boys basketball tournament in 1929, 1951, 1955, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1999, 2003, and 2005.
  • Floyd Bee coached the wrestling team for over 30 years managing a winning season each time. The final wrestler ever to wrestle for Floyd Bee was Wesley Allen in the state sectional in 2000.
  • The school is a traditional doormat in football. The last winning season for the boys football team was in the 1985-86 school year, when the team posted a record of 5-4. The football team did qualify for the state playoffs in the 1975-76 and 1984-85 school years.
  • The school has never had a state champion in sports.
  • Alumni: Notable alumni include: Brian Cook - professional basketball player in the NBA.
  • Norm Cook - former professional basketball player in the NBA.
  • Kevin Seitzer - professional baseball player in the Major Leagues.
  • Tony Semple - professional football player in the National Football League, NFL.
  • Chuck Verderber - 1978 McDonald's All-American basketball player who played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.
  • Andy King - professional football player in the National Football League, NFL.
  • Terry Kinney - actor, best known for his role in HBO's Oz as Tim McManus.
  • Armin H. Meyer - former U.S. Ambassador to Iran, Lebanon, and Japan, the Lincoln Courier reported he was Valedictorian of his class.
  • Academics: Academically, the school has fallen slightly below the state average on standardized tests. It won the IHSA State Championship for the Debate Team in 2000 (the school does not currently have a debate team).
  • The school holds a state championship in Speech Individual Events (1981), and several top state placements in Group Interp and Contest Drama. Numerous students have become state individual events champions in Speech and have earned All State Cast honors in Group Interp and/or Contest Drama.
