  1. Student/Former Student Review -  Not Recommended

When I first arrived at Adams the new school didn't seem that bad. When I finally found my homeroom which took a while but the staff were nice enough to sort of show you were to go. The only thing though, is I had forgot what number it was so there couldn't really help me so they just made me look for it. I finally found it and sat down, the teacher was very nice and explained all about how she was the reading and english teacher and she made me take this packet with all information. When i was listening to her i noticed the windows were open, there was no a/c and it was very hot. I could bareley hear her since all the cars were passing by non stop and a bunch of fans were on. we finaly went to first period which was math.i walk in, also very hot, a bunch of fans and lots of cars going by. now i don't mind doing math or reading and english and they don't seem that bad, but it is very hard to concentrate when its very hot and there is lots of noise. Next i went to english, with the teacher i met when i first got there, she handed me a list of supplies for what we needed even though we had the entire summer to get it and all i got was a list for math. After that i had to stay for reading and was given another supply list. Next was music class were they offer chorus, ochistra and band all of which are located very far from the team hallways and was annoying carring around a lunchbox though a bunch of halls because they don't allow you to get it before you go to lunch, only before fourth period. When i finally found it was a very hot room again, and the room seemed like it could fit very many people. Next was lunch and to get there you had to go all the way through the eighth grade classrooms to get there. the sign said max. capasity 150 people but it seemed very small to fit that many people, and was very cramed trying to fit everyone. next class was science which the very large windows were open and there was no screen up so when you sit down there is a bee or two flying around so you better not be allergic to bees because a very large wasp flew in and the teacher says thats normal and they sometimes get birds flying around. But the class wasn't actually bad besides allways worring about giant wasps because you do very fun experiments in very hot heat though.next they have social studies, very hot room lots of noise from frequent cars driving by on the highway and sounds from fans. then i went to tech ed were you learn how to use drills and make things like air powered rockets. that wasn't bad and was the coolest room at about 85 degrees, too bad it is allmost imposible to find with one little sign pointing to it if you get to the basement and look for the place that seems like a storage and an unused exit you might see the tiny little sign. At that point if you asked a teacher other than the one running the class the teachers i asked were talking to other teachers about unimportant things and didn't answer me. after this was spanish which like any other thing not an acidemic was located in some random spot. At spanish class there was the loud hum of the generators and fans along with the heat, also hard to concentrate.that was the end of the day by then which starts at 8 o'clock and because the buses drop the students off the other middle school 30 minutes before that school starts the Adams students get droped off after that and have 10 min to spare or most of the time less. and have to be ready for class in that time or you will have problems with the teacher of 1st period, while at baldwin(the other middle school) there isn't much consiquences for being late. At the school if you get above an A- on the report card you will be alowed into the honor society, but when there are fans buzzing in your ears cars constitly going by on the highway and always being in a room never below 85 degrees if your lucky, it is very hard to concentrate on shool work that will seem somewhat more difficult than at Baldwin middle school were there is a/c and no cars or fans and you will never really be finding yourself lost. i have not really seen too much with parent involvlement other than donating money to the band.
