Our child has been attending this school for a while and has been a victim of bullying and some teachers are turning a blind eye while seeing physical and hearing verbal abuse to students that is in classroom and refuse to intervene and bring correction, and do not protect the children who is being victimized by these bullies.Bullies act as the victims when leadership is around and when their backs is turned they are victors. The Principal is trying his best but what will bring change to unruly students is teaching self worth, setting principle foundation, being striker in discipline, bring back morality, respect one to another and as a school the teachers needs to impart not just education but upliftment, encouragement, be understanding and show compassion, they are children not just a statistic.

My child goes to Memorial Junior High School. This school is really great. For some reason people in the area have a rumor that South and North are better. I visited all three several because of the rumors. I found that Memorial is a great place because it has just 7-9 grade, unlike the spread of 7-12 grade in the other two schools. Also my child can walk to Memorial and it is closer. This is important because there are so many clubs and after school activities! I am so glad I investigated the school for myself and didn't listen to people who don't even have their child at this school! Seventh grade is hard and the transition has been very easy because of the school staff. My daughter came home yesterday and said, "I never knew Social Studies could be so much fun!" I look at the work and it is challenging! My daughter is in advanced classes and although it is a challenge, she actually likes school! She stays after for clubs and I am 100% satisfied with what I see going on. Of course every school has it problems and I see that as well, but I feel that for the most part the school is responsive to problems and addresses things immediately. The administration seem pretty good and the school is well run. Memorial Junior High is a great school, and I am so glad that I didn't send my child somewhere else!!!

My child is zoned for this school. She currently attends Shaw Avenue which is awesome. The principal from Memorial JHS came to our school to tell us about Memorial and he seems to know his stuff...very impressive man and seems genuine. My daughter can't wait to start at Memorial in Sept.2014.
