School Notes:
  • Canyon High School is a traditional four year high school located in the Anaheim Hills section of Anaheim, California. It is located on forty acres of land at the cross streets of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Imperial Highway, and serves the students in the Orange Unified School District. The school, which opened its doors in 1973. The school serves the entire neighborhood of Anaheim Hills.
  • The school mascot is a Comanche and its colors are brown and gold.
  • History: The school opened in 1973 as a shared campus with the established Villa Park High School for students in grades 10-12. The high school was built to house students from both Peralta Junior High School and Vista del Rio Junior High School. Upon completion of the Anaheim Hills campus, a variety of names were considered for the site. The proposed name of Anaheim Hills High School was not approved as a name, due to the fact that the proposed Anaheim Hills community was not yet developed. Ultimately, the name Canyon High School was selected. Boundary changes in the district and increase in the population of the Anaheim Hills community resulted in changes at the school: the school was designated to serve students in grades 9 through 12 in 1988, and El Rancho Middle School was designated as the only feeder school within the boundaries of Canyon High School. The school implemented an International Baccalaureate Program in 1992.
