School Notes:
  • Petaluma High School is a public high school located in Petaluma, California. Petaluma High School's rival is Casa Grande High School. Petaluma High School is located in the relatively small town of Petaluma, California. Though known for its FFA and other agricultural programs, Petaluma High is home to students with different interests and unique backgrounds. With its exchange student program, every year students from all over the world come to Petaluma High to live with a family and take part in school activities, while getting an education at this regionally accredited public school. Though a public school, Petaluma High offers several advanced placement and honors courses for students looking to get ahead in college.
  • The school (along with nearby Casa Grande High) is set to a “block schedule”, in which there are only three classes (or four, if students choose to take a before school class known as “zero period”). These classes are relatively long, giving students time for learning in class, doing homework, and asking any questions on homework.
  • The principal is Brian Howard who is starting his third year. David Stirrat, one of two assistant principals is starting his second year. Kimberly Kern is starting her first year, she replaced Jennifer Zavoiko who left the school. Due to budget cuts, Linda Hansen's Assistant Principal position was not filled leaving the school with only two assistant administrators.
