All teams plan to be as good as the Northern Burlington High School field hockey team was in the opening game of the Central Jersey Group III playoffs. Very few teams ever are.

Ivar Iverson and Emily Bollendorf led the way for the SouthEastern Aquatics YMCA swim team at the Welcome to Winter Meet heldNov. 20-22 at Carthage College. Iverson won the 500 freestyle, 100breaststroke, 200 breastroke and 200 individual medley in the boys11-12 age group, while Bollendorf won the 100 breaststroke and 50butterfly in the girls 9-10 age group.

Curriculum
Courses are offered at more than one level of difficulty.Honors (4) indicates the highest degree of difficulty, and is taught in the greatest depth.College Prep I (3) denotes standard college preparatory courses.College Prep II (2) indicates introductory college courses designed to increase student competence and prepare students for further education.
Advanced Placement are also offered in: English Literature, Calculus AB, Physics C, Chemistry, US History, Biology, Environmental Science, World History, and Spanish Languages.
Activities
Burlington High School offers a wide variety of clubs, sports and other extracurricular activities. These include: Adventure Club, African-American Student Association, Anime Club, Arrowhead (Yearbook), Asian Students Club, Audio-Visual Club, Chess Club, Chorus, Collab (Art & Literature Magazine),Color Guard, Dance Squad, Debate Team, Devil’s Advocate (Newspaper), Drama Club, FATES, French Club, Factathalon, Future Teachers Club, Gay-Straight Alliance, Italian Club, Jazz Band, Latin Club, Marching Band, Math League, Medical Careers Club, Model UN, Multicultural Club, National Honor Society, Open Community Service Club, Peer Leadership, Poetic Ramblings Club, Robotics Club, SADD, Science Olympiad Team, Students For Environmental Action, Spanish Club, Student Council.
The school has an active sports program. All of the teams complete in the Middlesex League.
Burlington initiated an athletics hall of fame in 2002.
