Northwest High School is a public high school located in Colerain Township, Ohio, near Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Northwest Local School District.
The school colors are white, blue and gold. The motto is "Educating Leaders for Tomorrow". The mascot is the knight, and the sports teams are known as "The Knights."__FORCETOC__
Athletics
Northwest offers several sporting activities to students, including baseball, softball, basketball, track and field, cross country, soccer, and football, as well as swimming, golf, bowling, tennis and wrestling.
Northwest competes in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference.All competitive sports teams from the school are Division I, excepting the football team, which is Division II. There Cross Country team in the last 3 years has really started to come out on top as the Lady Knights cross country team has been crowned League Champions 2 years in a row working on there 3rd straight win this year of 2009. The guys team is also highly competitive as they have finished Second in Leagues 2 years in a row.
Clubs and Organizations
Northwest High School has a varety of clubs that many students can become involved in. There clubs range from Green Club to the Latin Club. Several clubs that they have are Student Senate, Green club,Cabin Time( Christian Organization), O.A.B., United Knights, following music programs like a String Orchestra and a Band that performs with there Marching band at home football games. They also have a choir which branches off into a Womens Ensemble that performs out in the Community.
Alumni
Famous alumni include major league baseball player Scott Sauerbeck, United States Olympian Jaycie Phelps, and ESPN commentator Lewis Braxton.
Student Senate
Northwest High Schools Student Government is an oganization that helps keep the school moving forward. It ranges from putting up posters, promoting spirit days, making themes from dances and celebrations. Its made up of about 100 memebrs with 25 memebers from each grade and 5 officers.
