This school actually despite it's the South Bronx area and all the crime in the area is actually a very safe school for students. My child is finishing this year 8th grade from being there since 6th. The academics could be improved but this I feel is more of an NYCDOE issue because it seems the dept of ed has forgotten about the Bronx and those of us parents who push our children academically are pushing for our kids to go to high schools in Manhattan because we know they will get a better education. This isn't EBA fault this is DOE fault and this needs to be rectified in every school in the Bronx so as the DOE adage is supposed to be as they promote No student left behind. At this time, the NYC DOE is providing a severe disservice to Bronx students and this is NOT ACCEPTABLE! I gave 3 stars only because of the DOE .. SADLY it's not the school in itself fault for the stars. As I said, I feel my child who also is small in stature even has always been safe in the school. If fights break out, the staff is VERY FAST in fixing them. The parent coordinator is excellent and I haven't had any problems with my child's teachers from 6th to 8th grade.

I love this school. My son is a student of this school. The teachers there really take the time to be patient with the students and make sure they get the best out of them. There is nothing wrong with the school, it just happens to be in a not so nice are of the Bronx.
