    BARKHAMSTED The month of October will be an interesting time to be in Boohamsted (Barkhamsted) with many events to spark the interest in the community. Residents, area merchants and organizations are invited to create a display with a witch, ghost, scarecrow, other Halloween creature or a harvest display to celebrate Halloween during October. All would be eligible for an award.

    About six weeks into painting one of her murals, Liliana Kleid started to feel a kinship with one of her heroes. Stiff all over from lying flat on her back on a scaffold, painting blue sky, white clouds, birds and cherubs, she said to herself, "Ah, this is what Michelangelo must have felt like."
