SOUTHINGTON — A donor who wished to remain anonymous is helping to fund three school programs through the Southington Education Foundation. The funds, which total $10,000, were awarded at the Board of Education meeting Feb. 25. The donor chose which programs would get funded.

Southington High School is a public high school located at 720 Pleasant Street in Southington, Connecticut.
It is the only high school located in the town of Southington.
Athletics
Southington High School Athletics are directed by former NCAA Champion Assistant UConn Soccer coach and former Tolland High School Athletic Director Eric Swallow.The Blue Knights have clinched over 15 state championships since 1990.
Southington competes in the CCC North division, which consists of Glastonbury High School, Manchester High School, Simsbury High School, New Britain High School, and East Hartford High School.

The Emblem is Southington High School's student newspaper. Six issues are published throughout the year. Included in the six is a Senior Issue, which contains features such as a "Class Will", "Where I Will Be In 30 Years", and "Class Memories."The Advisor is Joseph Cipollini.
Starting early in 2008 the Southington High School Mass Communication Department started a news program called the "Southington K Factor". "The Southington K Factor" had its first show on Wednesday March 19, 2008. The K Factor comes on on Wednesdays at 7pm on Southington's local channel 16.
PCB Scare
In September of the 2000-2001 school year, the motor that runs the school's clocks exploded in the basement of Southington High School. Students were kept out of building for days as everything was tested for cancerous PCB's.
