The Marianna High School soccer teams traveled to Panama City for doubleheader action against district rival Arnold Monday afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs lost 8-0 before the Bulldogs took the field and walked away with an 4-0 loss.

The Marianna High School Lady Bulldogs soccer team opened their season with a pair of losses — a 7-0 road lost to a tough John Paul II Thursday, before returning home to fall 6-3 to a seasoned Franklin County team Saturday.

The Marianna High School Bulldogs soccer team kicked off their season on the road last Thursday, as they traveled to Tallahassee to take on John Paul II. The Bulldogs fell 2-1 in their opener.

Marianna High School is a public high school in Marianna, Florida. It enrolls 805 students in grades 9–12 making it the largest of the four high schools in the Jackson County School District. Marianna High offers technical, and academic courses, as well as Dual Enrollment and Early Admission with Chipola College. Marianna began offering Advanced Placement course in 2007 and is the only school in the district to do so. Marianna High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Marianna High School is a D school.
History
Marianna High School was built in 1927. This campus was used and expanded upon for the next 78 years. In the fall 2005, the school opened a new campus more than twice the size of the original. The new campus has been criticized by many students for having a prison-like atmosphere and lacking the Charm of the Old Campus.
In 2006, Marianna High welcomed JAAT (Jackson Academy of Applied Technology) the only technical academy in Jackson County. Jackson Academy was shut down after student enrollment waned, even though it was protested by many Jackson Academy students, parents, and teachers. The Jackson Academy students that did not drop out of high school to acquire their GEDs either studied and will continue their studies at Marianna High School in the field of health sciences, computer sciences, and art, or went to other local high schools in the area (Malone High School, Sneads High School, Cottondale High School, etc.).

Marianna graduates 90% of its students on average. Most students who graduate and want to continue their education attend the local Chipola College , known by some as "Jackson County High", a college primarily offering associate degrees from its junior college days, but now including a handful of bachelor's programs. Though this is the choice made by most students, Marianna High School also has students who have gone on to attend the University of Florida, Florida State University, Georgia Tech, Auburn University, University of Alabama, Huntingdon College, Flagler College, University of West Florida and many other highly accredited colleges and universities in the United States.
