Forgive my tardiness. Just trying to track down answers to everyone’s questions. A couple of questions dealt with the health of basketball players Elgin Bailey and John Riek . I’ve got good updates on those guys, so I’ll post something later just on them. Here’s what I’ve got otherwise.

Lake Howell High School is a comprehensive four-year high school located in Central Florida, USA. Home of the Silver Hawks, it has been designated a "B" High School by the Florida Department of Education in 2009. It was previously an "A+" high school in 2008.
The mission of Lake Howell High School is to help students meet their academic, social, emotional and vocational needs by using a flexible curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and responsibility, challenging our students to develop their greatest potential to become responsible citizens in the work force and global community.
The school is actually geographically located within Seminole County, near Winter Springs and Oviedo, despite its mailing address of Winter Park, Florida, which is in Orange County.
Opened in 1975, Lake Howell High has been remodeled several times over its three decade history, the last major remodeling occurring in the late 1990s.
Lake Howell Theater Company
Lake Howell High School is also home to the award-winning Lake Howell Theater Company and Thespian Troupe 4937. The sponsor is Mr. James Brendlinger (former Teacher of the Year winner), who produces all of the shows done by the company. The Lake Howell Theater Company also is home to the comedy troupe "Bad Medicine", which started within the company some years ago. Annually there is a 'Night on Broadway' performed by students. The proceeds go to charity, or to the school for improving the student environment.
Lake Howell Band Program
The band program, led by Director Todd Leighton, includes many ensembles including the Silver Regiment Marching Band and the Lake Howell Jazz Band. The wind ensemble has been known for receiving straight superiors in Concert Festivals in the vicinity. Additionally, the Silver Regiment holds many Grand Champion awards for marching competitions in the Central Florida area. The band program is ranked as one of the top programs in Florida.
Lake Howell Choral Department
Led by Florida State Graduate, Blaire Bryant, Lake Howell's choral department proudly showcases itself in a minimun of four concerts annually. Choral Groups include Man Group, Showchoirs Wings and Top Flight, Ars Nova, Lake Howell Singers and an accapella group Silver Lining. The choir has participated in Disney's Candlelight processional for many years and boasts the title of 'Honor Choir' for two consecutives years. They competed in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival and placed First and Second in various categories.
